Uzbekistan and Lithuania are intensifying cooperation in the field of transport and logistics

The delegation led by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilhom Mahkamov studied the possibilities of the transport and logistics infrastructure of Lithuania and held talks with the Lithuanian partners on the issues of development of this field and prospects of cooperation.


In the negotiations between the Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilhom Makhkamov and the Minister of Transport of Lithuania Marius Skoudis, further development of beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Lithuania in the field of transport and logistics, providing discounts for cargo transportation, favorable conditions for national carriers creation issues were discussed.


Marius Skoudis noted that Uzbekistan is Lithuania's priority partner in Central Asia. Many years of successful cooperation in the field of transport and transit-logistics and trends of increasing the volume of cargo and passenger transportation between the countries were noted. Mutual interest in establishing practical cooperation in this regard was confirmed.


As a result of the negotiations of the heads of the transport agencies of the two countries, an agreement was reached on the activation of cooperation between specialized structures, logistics companies and ports, as well as on the joint development of new mechanisms of cooperation aimed at diversifying the routes of delivery of export goods of Uzbekistan to Europe.
